Rich,
Pull the rear wheel and see if the inside of the spline/ring gear
carrier is wet with oil. If so, it would indicate that the inner seal on
the rear end housing has gone South on you. Also, make sure that you are
filling it with the correct amount of oil. The quickest way to make any
Guzzi seal leak is via overfilling. Of course, then there's always
switching to synthetic oil after 30 years of dino juice.......
