Hey Ian,

Shut off the petcocks? Can you do that? Mine either leak or don't flow
at all, so now that they are on and not leaking, I ain't tuchin nuthin!

Oh yeah, I forgot to change that old radiator fluid - if I could only
find the radiator now..................

Fixed the horn, was just a wire that disconnected inside the headlight
shell-good as new.

Oil was muddy like coming out, perhaps it was just age that crapped it
up plus moisture, who knows, will fill her back up and keep a check,
perhaps the new 20W50 oil will leak less since it is a bunch thicker
than the mud that came out.

Keith,

Guess that is inherent with these bikes?

Not me. My 69 is stable as a rock with the idle. My 70 is a bit of a
bitch
until she gets warmed up but she is rock solid when she gets warmed up.

When your idle drops is it because the slides are too low or because the
engine starts to bog down with too much richness? When the bike gets
good
and warm disconnect the chokes (enricheners) and see how the bike runs.
Remember...the bike should be set to run right when warm...not cold.

 The oil that is in
there now was new about a year ago before it sat at the shop, it now is
a watery consistency and looks black, don't know why its so watery in
consistency and so black already, any ideas?

Maybe you are getting gas into the oil? Does the oil have a gas smell?
Do
you shut your petcocks off when you stop the bike? Maybe your radiator
coolant is leaking into the oil? :-)

Regards...Ian
