Stick with the chain.

Use a new chain and the real Guzzi tensioner. In my opinion, the
Valtek one's way too noisy.

I've had my '73 converted to run the steel gears. It's quite a bit of
work, and they're noisy, too, so I'd never do it again.

Hi there fellow lopperz,

Well the 74 LAPD is all apart and I've looked at the timing chain (and
gears) for the 1st time ... uh huh... so much slack the chain was
wearing on the side of the case. So...

I'm considering gears since I need sprockets and chain. What's your
opinion? Price vs. longevity.

Just did the sprockets and chain on the LeMans and it was pretty
straight forward.

There have been gears (and chains) on my fav. flea e-market (Ebay) but
none today.

What's yer thoughts on this...?

Thanks
