Hmm. Then I must have been fortunate. All three carriers on three blocks
came out easily with this technique. Including an eldorado that had been
set on fire and left to rot in the seattle rain for a half dozen years.
Rapping on the other end with a rubber mallet...seems it would be
possible to tweak the carrier and bearing if you hit it off center
accidentally. perhaps if you use the tool to put some pressure on the
works and use the mallet on the other end to help break the gasket free?
sort of like using a puller on a stubborn gear. 2 tension turns, 3
whacks repeat. That's how I got the rusted, baked in place brake rod
from the frame.
Since others are so concerned with the state of my project...I picked up
the frame from the blaster's today. Shooting primer tonight.
