oh yes.
it was then i discovered the only way to remove a truly stubbon rear bearing
carrier is to take the con rods off & apply mallet to front of crank!!

it is also easily possible to snap off the part of the bearing carrier
casting the mounting holes are drilled in even when using a tool that
approximates the factory item. i know, i've done it.
