There are screens (or should be) in the tank on the petcocks and also at
the banjo fitting on each carb. In my experience most people don't use an
additional filter unless they have a problem with the tank being corroded
or losing old sealer or some such nightmare. In theory the carb should be
able to pass whatever gets by the carb filter as long as the filter is intact.
