OK I won't tell you I am using Mobil One !
CEV ? Whatever it stands for ,I have seen a WHOLE lot worse electrics
on motorcycles. I know a lot of people pick at the stuff ,but with
proper maintenance and a little understanding the stuff was pretty good
With my 1972-5/6 (West Coast model year nomenclature) after 30 years of
abuse from TYPICAL POs it came back to life with minor resoration and
has been flawless in operation. I didn't have any trouble with CEV then
and I don't have any trouble with it now . It really isn't bad
stuff.Another "real truth" that is long over due to wither and pass .

Thanks to all who have offered advice on my previous questions. Grounding the 'start only in neutral' switch seems to be a common and simple thing to do. Interestingly no one seems to know what CEV stands for and no one seems to think very highly of them. I think they must be the company who made the electronics kit I had when I was a kid many years ago. The components seem to be of the same quality. Center stand. Duh. Operator ignorance. Thanks. Today's question: the owner's manual mentions fuel filters--I'm not surprised that there aren't any on my bike, but what are most of you doing, using fuel filters or not?
