Hi Richard,
If you have the stock petcocks, they have filter screens inside the tank.
There are also round (plastic on mine) filter screens between the fuel inlet
"banjos" and the carb bodies. I use "Visu-Filter" brand see-thru inline
filters available from MG Cycle. I like to see the dirt collecting from the
"Sediment Supreme" you get at small backcountry gas stations.:-) Now about
that oil.... Cheers,
Charlie

Grounding the 'start only in neutral' switch seems to be a common and simple thing to do. Interestingly no one seems to know what CEV stands for and no one seems to think very highly of them. I think they must be the company who made the electronics kit I had when I was a kid many years ago. The components seem to be of the same quality. Center stand. Duh. Operator ignorance. Thanks. Today's question: the owner's manual mentions fuel filters--I'm not surprised that there aren't any on my bike, but what are most of you doing, using fuel filters or not? I will never ask: "Which oil are you using." (Please don't answer!)
