It's an Eldo frame without the sidestand mount (uses police stand and boards) and it already has holes for the rear crash bars. In addition, just to have another useless lump of metal there, it has the mount for the police siren. But it was burned and left to rust. So I start cutting, cajoling, bashing the old nuts and bolts that remain and start cleaning it up. I set it on a nice flat piece of concrete and it appears to be straight. Except then I sight down the main tube. There seems to be a slight bend to it. As you look down it to the front you can sees just a slight bow. A straight edge comfirms it. Then I noticed that the steering head seems to be welded on off center. WTF, over? Warpage from the heat? Maybe. But the tank was still on it and I would assume the tank would have burst/exploded before it go hot enough to warp the frame underneath. Crash? Could be. But the forks were straight though it could have been bashed at another time. Still the down tubes seem straight and any force stron enough to bend that 2" main tube, I would think, would bend up other stuff. Maybe I'll have to hunt up another frame. ======== An American Classic =========================== There's a good reason why Reader's Digest has long been one of America's favorite magazines.
