<P>I have never had a problem with mine loosening since I installed them the MG Classics way. </P>
<P>Get the engine reeeal hot, then tighten the piss out of them. I nearly flipped my bike I pulled so hard. Once done, they stayed put. They were still easy enough to remove when I put my new headers on. I had to retighten the nuts only once after that install because of the copper gaskets compressing. Used the same method with success. Now I give them a cursory check at the beginning of the spring and ignore them for a year.</P>
<P>Hope this helps anyone with this problem.</P>

<DIV></DIV>>Yeh, well thats the holy grail with the exhaust systems isn't it. The
<DIV></DIV>>ongoing battle with those nuts loosening. I put up with it until last year,
<DIV></DIV>>high temp rtv made them stay put for a long time. This is a tip from the
<DIV></DIV>>list, maybe apply the same to these ss ones? Couldn't hurt.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Why would the lock nut add to the loosening? 'cause I got sucked into that
<DIV></DIV>>whole thing. Never seemed to have helped. There's some cash down the drain.

<DIV></DIV>> The SS exhaust for my Alfa came with SS bolts/nuts/lockwashers since
<DIV></DIV>>the sections have bolt-together flanges. I've found that over time, the
<DIV></DIV>>SS bolts have the tendency to disappear. I think it is from the
<DIV></DIV>>vibration and the heat. To remedy the problem, I have double nutted
<DIV></DIV>>them all.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I wonder if the these SS exhaust nuts might do the same (meaning loosen
<DIV></DIV>>up over time) especially if there is a lock nut on them.
