Hi Chris,
My list is at the other house but I will have a look when I get back after the weekend to see if I can get you some numbers.
As far as I know.....police models were denoted with a "VP" in front of the 5 digit serial number. Whether they added a police model in as the assembly line went along or whether there was a set block of bikes made I am not sure. I'll see if I can get a sense of a pattern. As far as I know the serial numbers were constant....starting about 50xxx in 1972 and going up to 63xxx in 1974. 1974 models would likely have serial numbers 62xxx and up.
As for the registry. There was a web site that had a registry for all bikes of which Guzzis were one of them. I can't remember the site offhand. I don't think it really took off. As for a listing of Loops.....I sent my list to Dave for posting on the Looplist and Mike created the map.
Hope this helps....Have a good weekend all...Ian

Ian-
I've noticed that there are quite a few 74 Eldos on the list. Nearly all of them are LAPD versions. Do you know if there were more cop bikes made than civillians for this year or vice-versa? I'd like to get a feel for how many cop bikes vs. civillian bikes were produced for the 1974 model year. Also, didn't you, or someone else have an on line registry for older Guzzis where you can see who owns what and where they are? I found one in my early days of researching my loop, but can't find it again. Anyways, any info you (or anyone else knowledgable) can provide is appreciated.
Thanks!
Chris in NC
