Seems like I read that only a couple hundred disc models were imported into
the states. I guess the four shoe was even rarer.

We were only able to get two of the 4 shoe models mid season 1973. The next ones were the disc models. I don't think too many got into the states. We knew the disc model was coming and were not sure how they would be accepted so we tried to get more. The 4 shoe worked great at stopping foward motion but you better put your foot on the rear brake if your stopped on a hill! Live long and prosper.
