Hi Bob,
The reflector/lens asembly is available from any number of suppliers. As mentioned J.C. Whitney, also try Dennis Kirk (www.denniskirk.com), Chaparral (www.800-841-2960.com), Parts-is-Parts (www.parts-is-parts.com) and Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse (www.mawonline.com). Usually best to buy one specifically made for motorcycle use as the pattern of the light is different. Bosch, Cibie, Anteroche (spelling?), SEV Marchal, and Carello all make effective units. I like the beam of the SEV most though. PIAA sells excellent bulbs (they may also sell the reflector) as do the other sources - a lot of auto parts stores carry the H4 bulbs too. Hope this helps,
Charlie

Charlie,OK this is something new then Charlie. What are you talking about? I only know about the car headlight you can get at auto stores. Where can I get the reflector and the separate bulb? Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,
Nope, I just carry the little H4 headlight bulb. The reflector assembly is a separate piece. Cheers,

Charlie,Just found this e-mail from you again and was wondering. Do you actually carry ( as a spare ) a big car headlight with you when you ride? Takes up a lot of space right? Just wondering. Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob, In the right toolbox I carry an ignition coil, dist. cap, rotor, points, condenser, plugs, and fuses. I've never used any of it but one plug and a coil in the last 22k miles. I carry a coil because one (a two month old American made Echlin) failed while out on a ride with several Goldwing riders. I'm using a Bosch "Blue Coil" now so will probably never use the spare, but better safe than sorry. The only other spares I normally carry are headlight and taillight bulbs (both Halogen), throttle and clutch cables. May carry a few more items for longer voyages this summer. Cheers, Charlie

Gents,In a recent thread I asked about Loop reliability and the discussion, for me, was great. Feedback was excellent. Seems like part of Loop reliability is that we are riding 30+ year old bikes and we must be reasonable about the parts that may fail.Dave Otis wrote an e-mail stating what he carries with him in an eventuality ---- I carry a kit with plugs,
points, condenser, fuel screens, a few extra carb parts, fuel line and misc
nuts and bolts for emergency situations. This seems reasonable and I have heard of guys carrying similar parts on much newer bikes.Just wondering if anyone else carrys anything else. I have heard of guys carrying u-joints (parts book names it a "double joint") and other guys say that if you don't horse the clutch you won't break your u-joint. Just wondering about other parts that may be weak. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all. Bob Hawkes
