Welcome Dave.
Well to tear down or not to tear down. A good question that comes down to a
matter of personal taste and how much time and $ you have handy.
Loops are new to me, I got mine almost 2 years ago. It ran, it shifted, the
brakes slowed it down a little. I bought it and trailered it home. I took
most of it apart for a cleaning and greasing but did not get into the engine
or trans.
I found dry grease in the head bearings, back in the splines that connect the
wheel to the rear drive. Redid most of the wiring termination's, new plugs
and wires, new tires and tubes new brake pads front, and started running it
and sort of been tweaking it ever since.
Its a good way to get familiar with the machine and get some riding time in
too.
Best of luck
This loop group is a good bunch
Pete
