I have a cheap bench grinder but I don't know where to get the buffing
compound and buffing wheels to fit. Do I need to do a hard buff followed by
a color buff or is it just a one step procedure? I buffed brass on musical
instruments about 15+ years ago but I lost contact with the suppliers of all
those materials. I really just need info on where to get the right
materials.
Thanks:

I have all of the engine covers on my Ducati Pantah motored Alazzurra buffed to what some have mentioned look 'show' quality with just that setup. It's not that hard, just takes time and I probably only have about $100 in my setup including materials. I guess you figured out that I am getting frustrated with polishing out mine. I can't ever seem to get the same results by hand that a buffing wheel can get and I can't pay $100.00 every time I want a professional shine. May send them off after this riding season.
