Another trick I use that some seem to think is crazy but works for
me. Go buy a bag of 0000 steel wool and a tub of Mother's or Semichrome
polishing paste. Using a liberal amount of paste on a wool pad start to work
it in to the aluminum in ONE direction. After a while the whole part turns
black with compound, keep going. When done wipe down with a clean soft
cloth. Then use another wool pad w/o the compound and polish to a gleaming
shine. This gets the last little bit of compound off, that if you don't
leaves the surface a little dull looking after just the cloth. Best to use
some surgical gloves while doing this as it is pretty messy but not hard.
The results are worth it. I find without the steel wool you sometimes just
can't cut through the surface enough with just the paste. Try it before you
pay someone.

Rich,
Thanks for the info. I guess you figured out that I am getting
frustrated
with polishing out mine. I can't ever seem to get the same results
by hand
that a buffing wheel can get and I can't pay $100.00 every time I
want a
professional shine.
May send them off after this riding season.
See Ya:
