So, let's see if I've got that correct.
Remove, three bolts, give front of pulley a tug? with something suitable
and off it comes? Belt and associated washers will come off.
Fiddle with washers line up front of pulley and screw in bolts in same holes.
Let's assume for a moment (I have been having trouble since I bought the
bike with smooth running at the appointed timing marks)
Let's assume po fucked up.
Put left cylinder at TDC on compression stroke (when intake valve closes)
fart with pulley to get the TDC mark on rear pulley lined up (first mark on
left)
without moving engine, put pulley on and tighten screws without moving
anything else.
Time the bike.
Yes?

Just remove the 3 small bolts and adjust the washers for correct tension. Just be careful about not removing the rear part of the pulley and screwing up the location of your timing marks. To be more clear... the BAN (big assed nut) does not need to come off to swap washers in and out to adjust belt tension. Just the 3 small bolts. The only time the BAN needs to come off is to remove the flange that the pully is bolted to. No necessary unless you want to remove the timing gear cover.
