I have the Tommaselli throttle on my 73' police model and it seems to
be a little stiffer than I like. I plan on lubing the cables to see if
it helps. When I purchased the bike, the throttle was a lot stiffer. I
found
that the rubber grip was making contact with the throttle cable assembly
housing. I reset the grip away from housing, giving some clearance
between the two, and it helped.

After installing the Tommaselli(sp?) throttle and cables,
new front brake cable, clutch cable and choke cable(s) I was
ready for adjustments and fine tuning. While on the
rack I tweaked them as best I could, hoping for a good
ball park setting, planning to adjust on the first shakedown.
Oh, I also had to install new civian handle bars, as the
cables were not fitting as planned. I have no idea how
the previous owner safely rode this bike as I bought it.
Some salvage yard bars came with the bike and cables
were bastardized to fit the bars and worked marginally
at best.
Maiden voyage 10 minutes ago proved to be fantastic!!
He popped right over, no choke...just a tweek on the throttle
and idles like a dream!! WTF? This thing idled like crap
before I put new cables on. All I did was baseline the carb
adjustments per manual and never sync'd them. They run
great, or atleast seem to. No cough, no sputter just purrs...
I don't get it, but am happy, as I am not a very good wrench.
Guess I'd rather be lucky than good....
My question is: Will the twist on the new throttle get any
easier? Seems I have to put a fair amount of effort to throttle
up. I adjusted the screw on the bottom and it's all the way out,
so that's covered. They were lubed before I installed them also.
My HD clone(Big Dog) has a very light throttle and I am
surprised how much effort it takes to turn the Tommaselli.
Any thoughts? Should I change the return springs on the
cables inside the throttle housing on the carbs?

needed

greatly appreciated.
