Hey Ian,

Just needed to blow off some steam, you can see/read that in my note.
I'd love to get to ride this machine one of these days, been waiting for
her to be operational for a year now, losing patience with "Patience".
Sounds like it may be just a simple return spring installation
adjustment per Tom's message earlier. Hope so, I'd hate to have to pull
the engine and trans again for the 4th time. Hope once this is resolved
she will run fine for a long time. It's gonna take a bunch of miles for
me to build a reliability trust with her though, will have to just run
around town for a few hundred miles, this way if she breaks down, I'll
be close! Not much was untouched during this 1 year ordeal, I just
worry about the chrome liners someday, hopefully they are solid right
now and won't need work for a bunch of years. Electrical wiring is OK,
but I guess someday she should be refreshed. I've gotta alot of $$$$
and tears invested, so it would be hard to give up the fight now. Thanx
for the confidence boost, and oh, and if you want her, just add a zero
to the end of your offer ($5000)and she's all yours!

 Keith,

If you want I will take that that lousy piece of sh*t bike off your
hands
for $500 bucks! :-)

Look. Once everything is sorted out you will fall back in love. Trust
me.
These bikes are made to run. If you have to trade a tranny with Mark.
Sounds
like everything else on the bike is very good.

I know this doesn't help but I had to add my two pennies :-)

Subject: Will It Ever End?! More Trans Problems!

I'm about ready to dump this POS! One last chance here. Mechanic got
the gen rebuilt, cleaned up the regulator, tuned her all up, adjusted
the valves (out of adjustment), set the timing (which was off), got her
firing up without the choke. Looking good, but wait, here we go again!
The shifter return popped again! Put it back in place, she popped
again! And Again! He is as frustrated as I am with this thing, both of
us are ready to rip the Guzzi mechanics head off, the guy whom was
supposed to have tuned her all up and got the trans all fixed up. Well,
he is ready to rip out the engine/trans to figure out why it is that
when the return spring is re-inserted, she won't shift higher than 2nd
gear, yet, when she pops out of place, she will shift through all 4
gears, except you have to manually return the shifter to center.

Mark,

Expect a call from Tom Vaughan probably early next week as I told him to
console you before ripping the thing apart (this would be the 4th
time!).

Doesn't make sense to me, she shifted fine on the way home from the
Guzzi shop, ride her about 50 miles when the return spring popped out of
place. Still had all 4 gears with the major inconvenience of having to
manually return the shifter to center. Now with the spring in place she
won't go higher than 2nd gear, but when popped out, she runs through all
4 gears. Please tell me this is an easy fix!! It's been a freaking
year since I bought this thing and it's been nothing but a nightmare and
major $$$$ trying unsuccessfully to get her running right. I'm ready to
give up on "Patience" as I'm at my wits end, could be on e-bay soon if
we have another major tranny job to do.

OK, I've vented. Please help fellow loopers!!
