I have a 69 Ambo with the 700 heads. I took the inserts out because I heard that I didn't need them. The bike has run fine for the three years that I have had the bike running but I think that I might put them back in to see if there is a change in the bike's performance.
Any thoughts as to what I might expect? I figure with the narrower diameter there will be a little faster airflow. Other than that I don't know what to expect.

I am new to the loopframe list but not to loopframe Guzzis.My daily rider is a 72Eldo.I have had since new,a keeper needless to say.A few years back picked up a v-700 that came with an extra engine.When I took the heads off(these are the small valve ones)noticed the intake ports are much

than the Eldo.Amb.heads, does anyone know why?I know the difference in these heads but a large intake port with small valves and the same 29mm carbs doesn't make sense?
