My feedback is that when I give something away, I generally don't charge
"handling", I generally just charge postage which at book rate should be a
buck. All the magazines I've seen that have free issues actually pay the
postage, hoping you'll subscribe. Sad to say, it often works with me...

I think not!
Maybe you should try multilevel marketing, used cars, working over
retirees or some other con.
I think I'll pass on YOUR magazine.
