Tom, John, and all at "Loopframe"; I am sorry that Eric feels the way he does. its obvious that he considers me a cheat, and a scam artist. He doesn't know me, I don't know him, and I'm surprised that he would charge me -in public- with such accusations. I mailed over nearly 300 copies of the first issue, and I'm not afraid to admit that I could not afford to pay the postage on that. I posted this information (to the bike lists I subscribe to) as a way of letting people know the magazine exists. These are my copies to do with as I please. Moto Euro is $49.99 a year (4 issues) so I don't think asking $5.00 for postage and handling (I work a full time job, as well as my magazine duties) is out of line. My mistake was replying to a question asked in a private email and having it go to the whole list, which is spamming....I just didn't notice. The magazine *is* a labor of love, and we are doing our best to see that it succeeds...without resorting to cheating, stealing, spamming, or juking the elderly out of their social security checks. |
Actually, I don't know you, Nolan, and since I made the accusation public,
so I will the apology.
It sounds like you are putting out a first class magazine. My issue (and
it looks like it is only my issue) is that I get a bit hot when someone
says something is free, and then charges you when you ask for it.
The five dollars you were asking, now that my ignorance has been lifted,
sounds totally appropriate. For me, It would have been better if you'd
said so up front.
Anyhow, I'm sorry.
I wish you the very best with your new publication.
