This kind of reminds me of the Flying Tiger squadron in China durring WW 2.
They were flying Warhawks built in Buffalo NY.
No spares avaiable in China. They had to part out the shot up and crashed
planes to keep the others flying, and home make the other parts.
At least we have several good places to order parts from.

On one hand we all want to see Guzzi succeed because we love the "family", but we don't want them to get too popular, that will make Guzzi lose a big part of why we love em'. I rode a "new" Bonneville last week. Nice bike, I wouldn't buy one though. Sure it might look old school but it ain't. Any jackass can buy one and not have to worry about breaking down, even let they're maintenance go on it. Who Cares? It'll run. But hey it looks cool, Eh gotta pay the piper baby, gotta pay the piper. I don't want Guzzi to fall into that, it's the 21st century, build something original for the times, go forward not backward like everyone else. We talk like it would and are always grumbling about bringing back the Eldo (I for one have done it myself) but given the reality I don't think I would plop down the $12-15 grand to have a 2002 idea of what an Eldo should be. Some of my Ambassador's appeal and character comes from it being a 30 year old antique. And as far a selling a zillion of them new Stones, I think selling just enough to keep Aprillia from looking for someone to unload them on is fine. I for one as an old time Ducati lover hate what has happened to them (Ducati) in the last 5 years with boutiques and designer golf bags and such ;-(. I came to Moto Guzzi because of it's 'esoteric' nature. Of course all of this is my opinion and your mileage may vary, but I will agree with Ian who said "While we are looking for the retro Eldo or a Ippogriffo (which had the coolest name and paint scheme in my opinion...even if Frank Wedge didn't like it! :-) ) the new riders are looking for something else". I would seriously be looking at an Ippogriffo with a 'hot rod' motor if they were available. That is what I would like to see Guzzi make.
