Greetings Ian,
Yes, I live within a mile of Rt 15 on the south, west side of Harrisburg.
You are probably looking at going south on rt 15.
I will probably go to the Md rally, ( by then I'll have either found a
bargain solo seat or spring for a new one from Mark )
Is this the Sept 21-23 near DC? I live about 2 hours from the outskirts
of DC. Where exactly in Md is it???
Whether I go or not you are welcome to use my place as a pit stop for you
and your loop.
You're right about the roads being very nice through here for the most part.
I'll stop whining, its just that its getting harder and harder to find new
roads I haven't traveled.
Looks like I'll need to get the bags attached properly and attach the
sleeping bag and tent somehow. I like new projects.

By the way, the pit stop invite is open to others ( Andy, Bob etc) from the
northern contingent heading thru here.

Cheers
Pete

Pete,

You live in Harrisburg right? Which side...N,S,E,W?

I am already planning my ride and route to the Md rally in Sept. I want to
follow the Susquehanna River from Williamsport to Harrisburg. I'll make my
way over to Hagerstown after that. Looks like some awesome riding
country....I can't believe you're complaining.

Here in Montreal....I have to deal with the crappy roads....and if I head
west onto the country roads the scenery is flat and boring. If I go east I
hit the city....which is scarier than dealing with the deer.

I know what you mean though about getting tired of the same scenery. There
is something magical about heading out on a road trip into unfamiliar
territory.....like we did last weekend. Riding local just isn't the same.

I hope you can plan to make the Md Rally. Looks like it will be a good
group
attending.

Regards....Ian

Yeh work gets my butt out of bed too. Usually here 7:30. Detroit huh? I
can
relate growing up in Queens NY. I was on a bicycle back then. Its risky
enough, and when you dont know any better, you think everyone lives that
way. One nice thing about living a 1 horse town in PA is access to
country
roads. In 10 minutes I can be in some pretty sparse backroads. Only
problem is that I am getting bored with the scenery. Guess its good to
get
a reminder that I have it pretty good.
