The switch! I never even considered the switch.
I've got the starter push button mounted on the right handlebar. The
ignition switch just powers ignition and enables lights. I have no idea
how much current passes throught the starter button and if this current
runs through the ignition switch or not. Guess it's time to trace the
wiring.

On my bike it was the contacts inside the ignition switch. I carefully disassembled the switch & cleaned the contacts. The best fix is to add a relay & start button to keep the large amp draw of cranking the bike from running through the ignition switch. Ken Asheville, NC |
