I have heard that you need to slide the engine forward to allow the tranny
to come out more easily.
As for holding the flywheel and aligning the clutch plates etc... I wrote a
method to use that is on Dave's web site. Basically it uses the shock boss
from one of the rear mounts to connect together a "screw in compression"
device. I used it to align the assembly as I was assembling it but I am sure
it could be used to disassemble as well.
Let me know if you need clarification.
.....Ian

okay dokay Dave. I suspected as much, but wanted some expereinced heads to respond before I go bashing the tranny into my newly painted frame. Next weekend should be the operational test. Next question... has anyone made a substitute tool for holding the flywheel while you unbolt it? |
