My '74 Eldo is 2 3/8 also, but has the civillian type cap. I currently have
a Fiat cap (modified slightly) on it cos the original doesn't fit right.

Jay Hello all, Could someone do me a favor by measuring the gas tank filler hole outside diamater? I think my tank is an LAPD tank because it came with a screw-on filler cap, but I don't know for sure. If someone could measure the outside diameter (which would be the diameter of the band which holds the cap on), it would be much appreciated.
