If you pull the rear tire and swing arm assembly can't you get to the back
of the tranny that way?

I guess the only problem would be getting the old bearing out.

Good luck....Ian

Sorry I neglected to specify that it is an Ambo 4 speed tranny. This deep
in
to the project, it seems everyone is supposed to know what I am doing (lol)

Moto has the update kit. And I could go that route. But at thispoint the
whole bike is assembled and just needs wiring, one carb rebuilt and the
tank
painted. Disassembling the bike is disouraging to say the least. But if it
has to be done...then it has to be done. I just want to see about options
first.

Of course I am under the impression that I can just remove the clutch arm
and put a new bearing in (al la BMW) or am I missing something here?

BTW has anyone tried using a BMW thrust bearing? (I am operating on foggy
mental recollection here) It seems to be a similar size. I'm asking before
I
get out the calipers and disappoint myself.
