I couldn't agree more with David on the no sealer/retorque plan. I have
always used this method and I retorque the heads on my bikes every spring.
It REALLY helps keep the heads and base gaskets from developing leaks and
after the initial "squeeze down" even the valves seem to stay in spec better.
Can we go for a ride yet?

I never use it, I do go through a process that is a pain but must be done, torque, set valves, run and tune let cool start and run let cool torque, set valves, run 50 miles let cool torque, set valves run 200 miles let cool torque, set valves run 500 miles torque, set valves run 50K miles or close to that. |
