This is very interesting. The 71 I got last year has not been run much in
the last few years.
It sounds like I should retorque the heads before putting it on the road
this spring.
What do you guys recommend for a bike that has sat for a number of years?
Should I run it a few hundred miles before retorquing or just do it right
away?

I have always used this method and I retorque the heads on my bikes every spring. It REALLY helps keep the heads and base gaskets from developing leaks and after the initial "squeeze down" even the valves seem to stay in spec better. Can we go for a ride yet?
