Subject: Converting An 850 to 1000?

I have a friend with a '74 Eldorado. The motor is getting sloppy and
he's considering upgrading it to 1000 cc.
I told him I though that the crank had to be re-balanced to accommodate
the larger pistons.

Has anyone done this conversion? What's involved?
