Greetings All,
I've got a 71 LAPD Ambo. I've figured out just about what all of the
lights are for on the dash with the exception of the 2 push/pull
switches. Here's the thing, Moe at Cycle Garden described to me what
all of the lights were for, but realized I had an early version of the
police dash. My bike actually has the V7 type of speedo, which has the
four warning lights within it (Oil, nuetral, high beam, gen) instead of
using the top 4 lights on the dash. I opened it up to replace a bulb in
my blinker light, and did notice that the top 4 lights on the dash were
bunched together on one harness that was disconnected/not plugged into
anything. What I can't figure out is what function does the push/pull
switch to the left of the speedo and to the right of the speedo have?
Mind you that this is an early version police dash, and I do not have
the toggle switch that Moe told me was a cut off switch. The push/pull
switch to the left does nothing, I think it may have no purpose -
believe Moe mentioned it was used for a map light for the LAPD. The
push/pull switch on the right of the speedo when pulled up, turns on a
blue light just above it to the left, but I have no idea what it does.
Any help figuring this out is greatly appreciated. I have a few
books/manuals, but none of these speak to the police dash lights and
switches.
Thanx!
