I tried it when I replaced the U-joint, and it seems to work quite well. It
seems that it might drip if the joint-clamps are loose, but I've never seen
that.

It's possible they followed Guzziology's recommendation and added a couple cc's of gear lube? Oil probably comes from leaky seal on gearbox output shaft, but some times it mysteriously creeps up from bevel box. Don't know how. Check levels for |
