Hi Ian,
<< It might be that you and I have the same problem with our bikes. My Ambo2
(with new engine) seems to have trouble holding an idle as well. I wonder if
the heat causes some additional tighness in the new engine? Does your engine
die slowly or quickly cut off?
It dies off quickly, unless I blip the throttle.
Can you revive it with a little choke or a
twist of the throttle or does it die regardless? How does it come off of
idle and does it hold a higher rpm ok?
It idles perfectly when its cold. It runs great on the road, either through
town or on the interstate. I rode it home from work last night and it ran
great all the way. When I got home, it died as soon as I let off the
throttle. Sure seems like carbs to me unless one of the heads is loose.
I would check for air leaks around the top of the carb and around the
manifolds. Recheck your valve clearances.
Im going to do that before I ride it again.
Let me know what you find out...I will do the same.
