Thanks Paul,
I must then announce that it is wrongly depicted in the Chilton's manual
p.110, probably a misprint, where they put the smaller part towards the
head...

Charles, The large side goes towards the head. If you look at the top cap, it can only go on one way. So if you then look at the position of the top cap you will see where your cable enters and see that it goes straight down into the slide with the spring securing it into it's slot. http://www.thisoldtractor.com/gtbender/loopframe_loop_list.htm Paul 73 Eldo "Elvira" 949 conversion with hack 74 Eldo "Daisy" very slowly undergoing a full police restoration -----Original Message----- From: Charles H [mailto:arak-@hotmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 13, 2005 11:04 PM To: Loopfram-@topica.com Subject: Carb Assembly Question ??? Hello All, I was working on my carbs and when putting them back together, did not know what way to put the trottle sliders... Actually I have an idea based on looking at a carb apart in the Chilton's Manual, but the thing is that the guy that owned my Ambo before most probably put the sliders the wrong way... So just to be sure I asked question #1 Question 1) If I look straight at the hole that feeds the gas to the engine (not the air hole), what part of the slider should I see ??? The small square part where numbers are stamped on or the larger rectangle ??? Question 2) Also on one carb when I put the trottle slider where the stamped numbers can be seen through the gas feeding hole, the slider when pushed down, gets stuck... Is it OK to file the side of the trottle slider with sand paper until it won't get stuck anymore ??? Thanks for the answers will let you know when I'll get it to crank... Cheers Charles H |
