They are the ones for the civilian bars, which I assume are the shorter
ones. I'll try and make sure both ends at the carb are tight.

I used to have this problem until I squeezed the cup around the ball on

There are cables for the civilian and LAPD bars - did you get the right
one?

There are two ways to take up slack in the cables: the adjuster on the
1->2 splitter, and at each carb. Dial out some of the slack at the
carbs (equal lengths), and then do the 1->2 splitter adjuster. You need
some length at the carbs so that you can introduce some slack in the
cables at idle.

The cup on the end of the chain is what I was referring to.

I ordered the 2 long cables that come from the handlebar controls for

the throttle and choke. Then the 2 short ones that come from the
splitter and go to the choke and throttle on the carbs. They were
just
cables. I would think that there would be another adjustment other
than
the splitter end where the cable goes into the "H" contraption, but
there seems like none. That little chain inside the throttle grip
just
doesnt seem to hold. Is that the cup you speak of, or the one where
it
 goes into the carbs?

I have a question however with the throttle. The dang cable keeps

falling out of the chain holder inside the grip. Nothing appears
to be

holding it except a small casing at the end of the chain. I am
also

wondering how to take up the slack, other than the screws on the
end of

the 2 -1 coupler. Seems a bit sloppy, the whole setup. Any info
on how

to better keep these cables tighter would be nice, especially
when the

cable slips out of the carb and sticks on the side of the housing
when I

rev it sometimes. New cables alla round too. They almost seem a
bit

longer than necessary, but I trust MG enough to send me the
proper

 parts.
