Hi John,
What's an Anton Sportpak? Don't believe I ever seen one.
Yes, there is a separate bracket for the rear signals. It's a chromed steel "C" shaped piece that attaches to the license plate bracket and the two pre-drilled holes you mention. I'll send you one FREE that has okay chrome if you'd like. I wouldn't drill out those holes and mount the signals to the fender for two reasons: 1) they'll likely crack from vibration eventually and 2) good unaltered rear fenders are getting tougher to find all the time.
The original front mounts attach at the front fork pinch bolts. MG Cycle has them (and a universal rear signal mount), check them out here:
http://www.mgcycle.com/turn.htmlabout half way down the page.
Something similar could be made with simple hand tools and flat steel stock from Home Depot/Lowes, etc. Spots originally mounted to brackets that attached to the police windshield mounts. Check them out here:

They can be mounted any number of places though - I've seen them on either side of the headlight (by drilling out the threads of the headlight bucket and inserting the spot's stud through the ears into the headlight), mounted to brackets dropped from the headlight attachment bolts, mounted to the crashbars, or mounted to a modified tubular bracket meant for a some metric cruiser. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination and fabrication skills. Cheers,
Charlie

Still working on the new to me '72 eldo. I took off the DB fairing and rear Anton Sportpac. Now I need to mount turn signals front and rear. I bought a rear taillight & bracket from an Ambo. Is there a separate bracket for the rear turn signals? Oh, I bought repro lucas turn signals from MG Classics. There are holes pre-drilled in the rear fender behind the reflectors. I will probably mount them there for now. Is that where they are supposed to go? The front fork ears were bent over, very crudely, to fit the fairing. I have bent them back, also crudely :(, and have a headlight on the way. I may just drill the ears to mount the signals if I have to, but how do they normally mount? Is there a bracket which with to mount spots and signals? Thanks for all the help, guys. I did look for pics, but could not find anything clear enough to help me. |
