I hope Guzzi's North American operation heeds the call. Sometimes I want to grab one of them by the collar and say "Can't you see the opportunities you are missing? Don't you understand that your customer base is a small, eccentric, extremely loyal, close-knit, communicating band of RIDERS?!?! DEAL with them on that basis and not like they are Harley or Honda or WalMart customers....". Oh well. |
Well, I hope that they improve, although I doubt it. A few years ago I
was at one of those international bike shows here at the IX exposition
center in Cleveland. While visiting the Guzzi booth and bouncing around
on the various models a salesperson zeroed in on me and started talking.
The instant I mentioned that I had just finished restoring an old Ambo,
he said "Sell it and buy a new one!", turned on his heel and walked
away. I was dumbfounded. Needless to say I wasn't very impressed, and
my impression of the company took a nosedive, and I lost some of the
warm fuzziness I had for them.
