Like any other commodity......gasoline is only worth what people will pay.
I have no doubt that if we (the U.S.) cut our fuel consumption just 10% we'd
see
a significant decrease in price. The majority of people that I know are not
willing
to adjust their lifestyles to decrease their fuel consumption. People I
work with
who could ride their bicycles/motorcycles won't......... won't car pool and
drive like their
at the Indy 500 and still complain about the cost of gas.
My main vehicle gets 17 mpg. I use it only when it is necessay, to haul
stuff I cannot get
on my motorcycle. I commute on my motorcycle from April till November, and
would
gladly do it year 'round if weather permitted (I live in Wisconsin). Around
my small town, I
ride my bicycle as much as I can.
I do this because I am sick of taking it in the shorts from the Oil
Cartels.......and prolly more
because I am a cheap SOB. :-)
