Kevin -
As you've noticed, a slipping clutch slips worst in 3rd and 4th gear
with the engine pulling the bike up to speed right after shifting.
If you take care not to work it hard and heat it up in those ranges, you
shouldn't have a problem. I've ridden a long way on bikes with clutches
slipping as you describe (including a Honda CB-160!) and been able to
make it through the riding season.

Hey Guys, I am leaving on a 300 mile round trip next weekend and my 69 V7's clutch is doing some strange things. Around town everything works fine. But if I get out on the highway and wind her up, the clutch plates seem to start slipping a bit. Especially if I get directly on the highway. Then as the bike warms up, it goes away. I've never really noticed this before. I have all the adjustments set right on the outside. Just wondering if this is something to be concerned about. A clutch replacement is not in the cards at the moment. Is there something that I am overlooking? I really cant miss this trip.
