Hi Greg,
I prefer to use a sealer in this area, specifically Permatex 300 (also
know as Aviation Form-A-Gasket). Dark brown goo, comes in a small bottle
with brush attached to the cap. A light coating on both sealing surfaces
does the trick. Non drying, excess easily removed. My favorite - YMMV.
