hi again-
well, Alex called me from alongside I-80, in Patterson, NJ. he said
that they cruised at a steady 80mph all the way there, and suddenly the
bike would only do 60mph, flat out, and then it just quit. it would turn
over slowly, but not start. the 3rd or 4th time he called, the bike
would not even turn over. he said there was some oil on the right side,
from the engine to the muffler. i do believe the bike is toast. guess he
ended up calling a tow-service to transport the bike to a guzzi shop in
brooklyn [near manhatten ave., Dave].
while i realize that i have no obligation to Alex, i still am
personally insulted that the bike gave up the ghost in this manner. i
rode it around here for 90 miles or so, before selling her, with no
problems. but i don't ride fast, for hours on end [except on the
sport.....] should i maybe reimburse him the $$ for the towtruck? parts?
i am seriously bummed about this.
