Hey Greg. Relining is about $20 I figure it can't hurt to give
it a try for that price. Also for some reason I always prefer to
do "buy" things from a store over mail order, don't know why but
I am just like that.

A copy of Guzziology is my fathers day present, but Amazon has
delayed it so I won't be getting it for a little while yet.
Thanks for looking for me.

Hi Ted,

I've not had my two-shoe shoes relined. Instead, I purchased a
new set
from MG Cycle. Their current price is $54.95. I am happy with
the
braking performance I receive from them - a whole lot better
than the
worn-out, glazed-over, 30+ year old originals that were on the
Ambo. I
didn't see any specs in Guziology about thickness, although
Richardson
does spend a a chunk of space warning about using the
appropriate
lining.

I'm not sure how much you can save by having your shoes
relined??? But,
given the need to have the right material for optimal braking
performance, relining may not give you the results you want.
Perhaps
someone else on the list knows the secret formula?

Any of you guys who have had your brake pads relined
before...
Did you have to tell them how much material to put on? Did
you
take in your hub? or did they just figure it out for you?
