Hi Ted,
I've not had my two-shoe shoes relined. Instead, I purchased a new set
from MG Cycle. Their current price is $54.95. I am happy with the
braking performance I receive from them - a whole lot better than the
worn-out, glazed-over, 30+ year old originals that were on the Ambo. I
didn't see any specs in Guziology about thickness, although Richardson
does spend a a chunk of space warning about using the appropriate
lining.
I'm not sure how much you can save by having your shoes relined??? But,
given the need to have the right material for optimal braking
performance, relining may not give you the results you want. Perhaps
someone else on the list knows the secret formula?

Any of you guys who have had your brake pads relined before... Did you have to tell them how much material to put on? Did you take in your hub? or did they just figure it out for you? |
