Hans,
thanks for the nice comments about my never-ending project.
I had the dash stripped and powder coated. That's it.
The gauges were in great shape when I got the bike. Just cleaned them.
I tried the flip cap on both of the tanks in the photo. It fit just fine
on both but I've not run fuel in either so haven't done the "acid test"
yet.
Not very informative today, am I? Sorry.
Some days are like that. I have a lecture in two hours. Better get my
act together. More coffee.

Ray, good looking photos of an even better looking better bike. A few
questions:

Did you restore the dash and of so, how did you do the little underlays
underneath the idiot lights?

Who restored your gages?

You had a photo of 2 tanks with different filler necks. I understand
from a prior conversation with Marc E.(I bought a tank from him) that
there are 2 versions of necks - one of those is a police tank, the
other is a civilian. The police tank requires that the ring of the flip
top cas cap (you called it deco style) be modified in some way.

I've added a new page to my website with pics of the alternator kit
installed on the bench so it's plenty visible.

Greg (Field), can you say whether this alternator is internally excited?

I would hope all the modern units are but would be good to know for
sure.
Thanks. Great machining and design on this bracket.
