Well, that seems to have done it. I took the battery tray out
and adjusted the offset shift adjuster so the lever was opposite
what it was before and it seems to go into 5th just fine now. I
have no idea of the correct procedure for adjusting this, but I
guess I'll leave it.

Oh and I DID have the shift arm off by one spline.
