Hi Ted,

I've always greased my seals on all sides before installation. I've
never used loctite to hold them in place. I grease them for two reasons
(a) it keeps the lubricated until the oil gets circulated on the first
start up (b) on the sides that don't get oil, I hope it keeps the
rubber/viton/neoprene/whatever soft and pliable.

As for the cones, yes, you shove them in one after the other - from the
rear of the transmission. There should a lip down there that will keep
them from going in too far (I believe that's right, anyway). I think
someone here had a rational for which direction to insert them, but I've
also heard it doesn't matter. I've always used the special sized o-rings
that Moto International sells.

The input shaft o-rings...if memory serves, the smaller diameter fatter
one fits in a groove on the input shaft. The large diameter thinner one
fits pretty much in the end of the clutch input hub.

I am replacing my rear main and transmission input seals. Should I put
any
sort of loctite type goop on the outside of these seals or just pop them
in?

The tunnel through which my clutch rod goes had no cones or or-rings.
MGCycle sent me 3 saying they could fit 3 in there. Should I just shove
them
into the hole one after another?

And lastly, I am replacing the 2 O-rings that go around the transmission
input shaft behind the transmission input gear. I took them off and
don't
remember something. Does the smaller fatter O-ring go against the
transmission case with the bigger thinner O-ring holding it in place?
Basically does the bigger O-ring go towards the front of the bike and
the
smaller the back or is it vice versa?

Thanks again all

Ted Ward
