Amen Lannis. And, since I'm a recent move-in, I'm part of most non-bug,
non-gator, and non-snake problems. Although the recent spike in
spider-deaths in the Odessa area can be firmly placed on my shoulders.
It's a burden I'm happy to bear. But Tom, if a gator that size comes a
looking to hop in my pool...he can swim there all day long until the
gator-catchers come.
As for the roads...the main roads are straight and flat. But, if you go
out looking in the agricultural and wilderness areas, I've been able to
find some fun roads that are twisty and slightly hilly. Nothing like
what you'll find in other parts of the country, but lot's of fun
nonetheless. So, this October when it's starting to get cold up north,
hop on the Guzzi and come down and meet the Florida contingent at the
rally Skip is putting on. (shameless plug)

Yet more proof that one of the most effective agencies in the entire world is the Florida Bureau of Tourism and Commerce. In addition being full of alligators that eat people, piles of rattlesnakes, more lightning strikes than any other state, regular hurricanes and tornadoes, blazing hot summers that can't be survived without airconditioning, and not a hill or curved road in the state...they have also convinced everyone that the two-inch long massive insects with long feelers that look like cockroaches, walk like cockroaches, and talk like cockroaches are actually called "water bugs" or "palmetto bugs" and NOT cockroaches....despite ALL this, they have the highest suburban growth (and tax) rates in the nation. I wish whoever's in charge of all that was running Moto Guzzi. We might be able to get parts when we need them..... Lannis (firmly ensconced in palmetto bug- and gator-less Virginia) |
