Hi Ron,
I have one left from the last bunch bought from MG Cycle. The i.d. is
.470" (11.94mm), o.d. is .678" (17.20mm), thickness is .104" (2.65mm).
Last I checked with Gordon, they were having problems getting more. MI
may have some or Joe Eish? Probably find one at the local hardware
that'll work.
One a bit oversize wouldn't hurt as they have a tendency to leak,
dripping oil onto the plug wire which then splatters on your pants leg
and/or saddlebag. I machined a second groove (a bit shallower) and added
a second o-ring for better sealing. Hope this helps.

Loopers, The early model V700 I'm working on uses a long, one piece, hex headed part, drilled & threaded at the bottom for a head bolt on the top short stud. My V700 parts book shows the later, two part design w/a socket head nut & a gasketed cap to keep the oil where it belongs. The one piece design uses an o-ring for the same purpose. Does anyone know the part # for the O-ring? Or, what size it is? Thanks, Ron Komoroski |
