Thanks Greg- I had read somewhere that the left and right petcocks were
not interchangeable- as in different thread size, but it doesn't sound
like it. Also, sorry i have lagged on scanning that manual- I did not
realize HOW much work it is to get it right- I have anew found respect
for the completed manuals you have posted- I'm not worthy! I got
frustrated and gave up, partly because of the binding getting in the
way- I am thinking of slicing the binding on one(I have two copies
anyway)and seeing if it works out any better.

Cheers,

Brian

Hi Brian,

The thread size is 12mm x 1mm.

The tubes on the petcocks were different for the right and left petcocks

in order to serve as a reserve...

The left petcock had a taller tube and the holes in the tube did not go
all the way to the bottom.

The right petcock had a shorter tube and the holes in the tube went
clear to the bottom.

The idea being to turn on the left petcock...the, when you run out of
gas, turn on the right petcock.

The commonly available aftermarket one's replace the tubes with wire
screens that go all the way to the bottom on both sides.

Can anyone tell me what the thread size is for the petcocks?
I read somewhere that some loops used different
sized petcocks for left/right because of the reserve tap- is this
correct?
